Instructor

In the late 80’s I spent a few weeks in Colorado as a participant of a backpacking, climbing, and rafting trip. It was then I really gained an affinity for the outdoors. Since that life-changing experience, I have instructed for Colorado Outward Bound, the Professional Climbing Instructors Association, multiple university outdoor adventure programs, and public-school adventure experiences. During these endeavors, my goal has been to provide meaningful outdoor experiences to a diversity of participants. As a university professor who studies outdoor recreation experiences, I feel it is also important to understand the values, outcomes, and impact associated with outdoor recreation and education.
